FRAM Oil Filters
Protect your engine

Our range of spin-on canister and cartridge metal-free oil filters offer protection for all vehicle applications, ensuring optimum engine performance.

FRAM spin-on oil filters trap abrasive dirt particles carried in the oil that may cause engine damage. Our range of world-class spin-on oil filters is encased in steel cans that are powder coated to protect against corrosion and includes full flow and bypass oil filters.

Our cartridge metal-free oil filters are eco-friendly and designed for modern engines. In a cartridge metal-free system, the filter housing is built into the engine and the filter element is fitted to the filter housing.

Performance Driven

By using the latest OE technologies, FRAM® offers its aftermarket clients the highest performance filters.

FRAM® is offering to the most demanding aftermarket customers an extensive oil filter range, constantly updated following the market demand.

How Do Oil Filters Work?

An oil filter is a component that removes contaminants and impurities from engine oil, ensuring clean and healthy oil circulation to protect engine components from damage and wear.

It’s like a guardian that keeps nasty stuff out of your engine, filtering out dirt, metal particles, debris, and other contaminants.

The filter has a membrane material that traps and holds those foreign substances. High-quality oil filters have a finer membrane, and more of it, to do a better job of filtering under adverse conditions, like in extreme heat or cold, stop and go driving, or frequent short trips. Why are frequent short trips so bad?

Because a cold engine produces more harmful by-products of combustion than a hot engine does. Also, it doesn’t get hot enough, and doesn’t stay hot long enough to burn off some of those pollutants. That means more work for the oil filter.

Either way, the filter can’t hold an infinite amount of toxins. That’s why we replace the oil filter with every oil change. It’s a little amount to spend to protect the very expensive engine.

Change your oil filter as part of routine maintenance. The life and longevity of your engine depends greatly on its oil filter. Ignore it, leave it on too long, and you could be facing some very expensive repair bills.

Oil filter replacement varies a great deal between different models, but it’s easiest to track when you do it every time you change the engine oil. Many older vehicles have a three-month or 3,000-mile interval for oil changes, whereas newer cars can be a set interval such as 5,000 miles or at least two times per year, or according to an oil life monitoring system that can sometimes be as high as 15,000 miles.

The best way to determine when to change an oil filter is based on your specific vehicle’s oil change requirements in the service schedule. In addition, if you inspect the oil and it’s milky, dark brown or black, or has metallic speckles in it, change the oil immediately.

A worn or clogged oil filter can lead to various engine problems. Signs include decreased engine performance, unusual engine noises, low oil pressure indicated by the oil pressure warning light, and even overheating. You might also notice increased fuel consumption, dark exhaust smoke, or the check engine light illuminated.

Reduced Performance: The engine may struggle to accelerate or maintain speed, feeling sluggish.
Sputtering: You might hear the engine sputtering, especially when accelerating.
Unusual Engine Noises: Knocking, ticking, or other unusual sounds could indicate a lack of proper lubrication due to a clogged filter.

Eventually, your oil filter will become packed with sludge and contaminants that can cause a restriction or prevent the oil from being filtered.

Expensive damage can result.
